About the Nightly News Webcast

Good evening, NIU. I’d like to tell you a little bit about our new show, the Nightly News Webcast. This is a new daily feature we’ll have on the Web site. It features a short summary of some of the stories we’re working on for the next day’s paper.
You can catch the Nightly News Webcast at about 10 p.m. or a little after each night, right when you’re unwinding from your day. I will produce the show, and it will be anchored each night by Kris Collins, who you’ve seen produce other video and multimedia features for us in the past.
I’m excited about the possibilities for the show and hope you continue to join us each night for another edition. The show will become an anchor for our other video features in the future, as well, so the programming will always be diverse.
Additionally, you can read blogs written by Kris and I that cover what we’re working on for the Webcast or how the show is developing. These will appear underneath the video player, just as this one did.
Some of the things we’re working on for the near future include constructing a new set and bringing in Northern Star reporters and editors to discuss the stories they’re covering. We’ll also bring in guest commentators from the NIU community to discuss how a certain story impacts them.
Thanks again for watching and we hope you join us each night for the Nightly News Webcast.
If you’d like to give us feedback about the Webcast, please e-mail me at [email protected].
